Your new centre's name
In consultation with Bunurong Traditional Owners, Early Learning Victoria Laak (pronounced LARK) has been chosen as the name of the new early learning and childcare centre at Hallam Primary School. Laak is a Boonwurrung word meaning sky.
During the planning, design, and construction phases, the centre was known by its interim name, Early Learning Victoria Hallam.
About the centre
Our centre in Hallam opens in early 2026 at Hallam Primary School. It’s run by Early Learning Victoria, a Victorian Government organisation. We will offer long day care and integrated kinder for 102 children each day. In 2026, Early Learning Victoria Hallam will also offer a sessional kindergarten program.
The centre also has:
- a consulting room for child and family services, such as maternal and child health and allied health
- a multi-purpose room for community meetings and playgroups.
Does your organisation need a place to run programs? Express your interest in using a room.
